STOVE WORKSHOP

Using an award winning safe biomass cook stove,  we offer workshops that teach students about climate change and the difference between non renewable and renewable forms of biomass.

We demonstrate the safe use of fire and how to use an embowla safely, to implement the Basa Njenga Magogo method of lighting fires and how to use healthy cook stoves with small quantities of wood, charcoal, biomass briquettes or wood pellets to cook and to heat small spaces. Participants also learn how to use a wonder bag to complete the cooking process thereby dramatically reducing the amount of fuel required for cooking.

This makes candles and paraffin stoves unnecessary and prevents thousands of deaths and illnesses caused by fires and toxic smoke inhalation.
